Machines Should Talk;
People Should Listen

What do you do when the machines take over? Listen, take a walk, dance or just relax?

Part two of four animated illustrations exploring what happens to peoples leisure time after AI. The idea was to make an image that works as an attractive poster in its own right, but also incorporates animation via augmented realtiy to bring to life. Made for an exhibition looking at the digitalisastion of the art world and synthestic aesthetics.

The titles are inspired by the 1967 film "Paperwork Explosion” by Jim Henson. A promotional film for IBM’s new Magnetic Tape Selectric Typewriter. In the film people proclaim

“Machines should work; people should think”

Now artificial intelligence has given this meaning a twist. Can we understand the machines and what do we do with our time?
